Our last NTI day

Hello all!!! The district has now reached 10 NTI snow days, so any other snow days we get will need to be added to the end of the school year. Let's keep our fingers crossed that this is the end of the snow!! We are in the process of rescheduling our field trip and will let you know as soon as possible when that will be. When we return to school, don't forget to return all of your snow day packet sheets completed, signed and dated. Thanks so much for keeping learning going as we have these snow days. We would also love to hear your feedback about the activities and/or packets. What did you think? what would you change?

P.S. don't forget to turn your clocks forward Saturday night. Daylight savings starts Sunday, March 8, 2015!!! That means Spring really is coming!!!

NTI Day - snow day!!!

Good morning all!!! I hope everyone is staying warm and inside on this very snowy day! Well its another snow day! The district is on snow day #9. For preschool we are two days behind because two of the snow days were on a Monday. Please make sure to complete your snow day activities from your snow day packet and turn them in as soon as we get back to school. Also, if we are out of school tomorrow - We will reschedule our field trip! As soon as it is rescheduled we will let you know!

More and More snow days!!!!

Well, hopefully you all are staying safe, warm and sane!!! My boys and I are going a little stir crazy!!! Jessamine County is out the rest of the week. Today is snow day #5. Have you seen the snow??!!!

Hello all!!! I hope everyone is staying warm and safe! Can you all believe this snow??!!! Tomorrow, Tuesday February 17, 2015 is another snow day. It is NTI snow day #4. Preschoolers did not have to complete the snow day packet for today, Monday February 16 because they do not attend school on Mondays. However, if you did them that's great! Turn them in when we get back to school!!!

Snow Day #2

Its snow day #2!!! Please refer to your snow day packet and choose three activities. Make sure to sign and date them and bring the completed sheet back to school on Thursday. Pets!!!!

The children have loved the pets unit!!!!We have talked a lot about what it means to be responsible and how to take care of our pets. The children have been busy making pet shop signs, feeding the "animals" and working hard to create their own pets out of paper and collage materials. We will be wrapping up our pets unit this week and will end the week making an edible cat face! Thanks to all the families that have helped by bringing in supplies!!! We really appreciate it!

Snow Day

Hello All! Today is our first snow day due to cold weather that we will be using our snow day packets. Please refer to your packet and pick three activities on the page. Complete these activities, sign your name next to the ones your child did and bring the sheet back to me the next school day that we have. We are keeping track of all completed snow day sheets that get turned in. We want you all to make sure to have fun today and to make learning fun with your child! Pirates

We hope everyone had a great Thanksgiving break! Thank you to everyone that came to our feast and helped out! For the next few weeks we are going to be learning about pirates. We will end the unit reading the book Gingerbread Pirates, A Christmas pirate tale! We are also starting to collect our mid-year assessment so please make sure everyone is here everyday. Thank you!!!

Knight and Dragon

For the next few weeks we are going to be reading the book the Knight and the Dragon. On Tuesday, November 25 we will wrap up our unit with a royal feast. We want to invite families to come join us. You can also help by bringing in food, helping us set up and serve. The children can dress up like a knight, dragon or a princess. Our feast will be in the gross motor room at 10:00 for the AM class and at 1:45 for the PM class. We hope to see you there!

Alphabet Fun

This week its all about the alphabet! We are learning the letters in our name and working on letter identification and letter sounds. We will also be wrapping up our assessment this week. Remember, there will be no school Wednesday, Sept. 24. This is an early release day and preschoolers do not come on these days.

Pete the Cat

The children have loved reading Pete the Cat and his white shoes! This week we are reading Pete the Cat and his 4 groovy buttons. Each book is also a song with a groovy beat the kids love. We will be reading the book on the iboard. We will also be continuing to collect assessment info and teaching school expectations.
A couple of things:
* we are collecting box tops - so save them and bring them in!
* Scholastic book orders are due by Friday, Sept. 19. You can order online or send in your order with your child.
* There will be no preschool, Wednesday, Sept. 24. This is an early release day.
* We are going to Boyd's Orchard Friday Oct. 3. Cost of the trip is $8. Please send in signed permission slip with money by Wednesday, Oct. 1.
* Thursday, October 9 is Family Fun Night from 5-7. We hope to see you there.

Welcome to Preschool!

Hello Everyone! We are having such a good time in preschool. The children are learning our routines, making new friends and learning lots! We have been learning about our 5 STEPS and the voice levels. This week we are going to be reading the Pete the Cat books. There are lots of great songs and activities that go along with these books. Check them out on you tube or on harpercollins.com. Below is the newsletter for this week.
